HBI University Black Excellence and Exceptional Leadership Lifetime Achievement Award Gala

HBI University is honored to announce the 2026 Black Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award Gala, a distinguished two-day celebration designed to recognize 100 outstanding individuals for their extraordinary achievements, exceptional leadership, and unwavering commitment to humanitarian service within their communities and professional fields.
This prestigious occasion will celebrate men and women whose lives and work have demonstrated excellence, courage, influence, and service. These honorees have made meaningful and lasting contributions through leadership, compassion, innovation, advocacy, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of others.

Celebrating Excellence, Service, and Leadership
The Black Excellence Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals whose sustained contributions have advanced their communities, professions, and society at large. Honorees are selected for their exemplary work, their commitment to uplifting others, and their dedication to humanitarian values such as dignity, compassion, justice, and service without discrimination or partiality.
The Exceptional Leadership Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to individuals who have demonstrated visionary leadership, integrity, and a measurable impact over the course of their careers and service. This award specifically honors those who have not only excelled personally and professionally but who have also inspired others, built strong institutions, advanced meaningful causes, and served as role models within their spheres of influence. Recipients of this distinction embody transformational, ethical, and community-centered leadership.
Whether through public service, ministry, business, healthcare, law, counseling, the arts, athletics, or philanthropy, these honorees represent the highest standards of achievement and service. Honorary Doctoral Graduation
In conjunction with the gala, HBI University will host its Honorary Doctoral Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
An honorary doctorate is a prestigious academic distinction conferred upon individuals who have made exceptional contributions to society, their profession, ministry, community, or humanitarian causes. Unlike an earned academic doctorate, which is completed through formal coursework and research requirements, an honorary doctorate is awarded as a mark of recognition for a lifetime or significant period of distinguished service, achievement, and influence.
This special ceremony will honor men and women who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, excellence, and commitment over 10 to 15 years in their respective fields. It acknowledges individuals whose leadership, professional accomplishments, moral example, and service have made a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of others. The honorary doctoral recognition is both a celebration of achievement and a public affirmation of the honoree’s legacy, impact, and contribution to humanity.

We are excited about this year’s speakers. Humanitarianism is at the heart of what we do. Humanitarianism is a philosophy that promotes the value of human life and seeks to improve the well-being of humanity. It is expressed through actions such as providing aid, assistance, and support to those in need, regardless of their race, religion, nationality, or political affiliation.
